Medusa

She is no stranger to pretty lies.
Well aware of the beauty she
Does possess with those
Alluring
Viridescent eyes that opaques
The cuts
And bruises that stain her insides.

No heed does she pay to empty
Promises or words varnished with
Sweet arsenic.
She fell for them those many moons ago -
Oh those cerulean eyes!
And she
Vows
No man be safe from her wrath
Till the day she doth dies.

She swears that all man, be them engaged or alone,
That they, like their hearts, be turned to stone.
